Studio is Odoo’s built-in app builder and the main way you customise things on Online. You drag, drop, and configure. Your changes go live straight away and carry over automatically when Odoo pushes a version upgrade.

Common Questions

Straight answers about what’s possible on Odoo Online.

No. Odoo Online runs on shared infrastructure and doesn’t allow custom Python modules, including anything from the OCA library. What you can install are Studio-built apps that contain only XML, exported from Studio and shared through the Odoo App Store. If you need OCA modules or custom Python code, you would need to move to Odoo.sh. Stella Technolabs works with both, so we can help you figure out the right path.

Studio is either a paid add-on or it comes included with higher-tier Odoo Online plans. It is not part of the One App Free plan. Which plan makes sense depends on what apps you are using and how much you actually need Studio. We can walk you through the options on a call.

Yes. Studio customisations live in your database as XML data and Odoo migrates them as part of their upgrade process. On Online, the upgrade is handled by Odoo entirely. You don’t plan it, budget for it, or manage it yourself. That is honestly one of the main reasons Online makes sense for a lot of businesses.

Yes, fully. For PDFs, go to Settings, then Companies, then Document Layout. Set your logo, brand colours, and pick a layout style. If you need to change what fields appear and where, use Studio’s report editor. For emails, Odoo has a built-in template editor that lets you change the header, footer, and body of every email your system sends, including things like invoice confirmations and delivery updates.

A focused Studio project covering custom fields, views, a couple of automations, branded documents, and a polished website usually takes two to four weeks from our first session to handover. If you are building multiple custom apps or setting up a full eCommerce store as well, that typically runs four to eight weeks. After the discovery session we give you a fixed timeline, not a guess.
